Small town born, world bred
I was born in São Paulo, Brazil but grew up in Maringa, a small town 8 hours south where I lived for 17 years before arriving in Ohio for a student exchange program.
From Ohio to Illinois, to Georgia — I eventually found myself in Florida.
I played DI volleyball while in college. Getting a scholarship and being able to travel the country while still in school was a huge blessing. Sports played (and still play) a huge role in my life. I made lifelong friends and learned countless lessons on the court and on the road. Still in college I worked in the Student Affairs Department in various capacities from resident advisor to hall director — this job brought me to work at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and introduced me to a whole new life outside of the Midwest.
Miami
After almost 2 years at SCAD I moved down to Miami in 2006 and started my career in Advertising and Marketing at CP+B. It was a surreal experience to be working at such a creative agency surrounded by the most talented people in the industry. I spent 8 years there, learning the ropes, putting in the hours, and cultivating friendships that have stood the test of time. I would later come back to Miami for another 3 years before moving to NYC — it’s a city I’ll always call home.
Los Angeles
After almost a decade in Miami and following a brief stint at CP+B Sao Paulo, which coincided with the World Cup in Brazil in 2014, I had the opportunity to move to the land of perfect sunsets and work at an iconic West Coast advertising institution, Deutsch LA. Los Angeles was great for all the known reasons (that quality of life!) — but it was the people in LA that really shined. It was remarkable to see how creative, smart and innovative the LA community was. A place I will return to in the near future.
New York
My stint in NYC has been short so far, but it’s the realization of a childhood dream and already marks a special time in my life. I love the energy and constant bustle of the city. If you can make it there you can make it anywhere. Well, I’m about to find out.
